Redesign of Proposal Forms

  • -

I suggest to think about a redesign of our proposal forms, thus supporting also more complex proposal writings.
The underneath proposed design is meant to see as a preliminary version which might be implemented without the need of redesigning some more elementary voting principles.

The proposed design basically introduces following additional features:

    • There is a field for an Identifier (Proposal-ID). If not possible to assign automatically then the proposer should create one based on the day when the proposal has been submitted.

    • Description is structured into What, Why, How, Who and When tabs. In each tab the proposer has a set of limited characters to describe the intentions of his proposal

    • For more detailed proposal descriptions (e.g. on options to vote for), a document can be stored on the particl forum, from which a SHA-256 Hash can then be included on the proposal form.

    • The type of proposal is by default “informal”. So far, no binding proposals can be submitted. When switching the option to “binding”, there might pop up a message box which directs the proposer to a potential different voting system (e.g. staking voting).

    • To submit a new proposal, two checkboxes have to be set to agree that the proposer will inform the rest of the community by making two entries in the particl community forum.

    • For the voter is necessary to agree with a kind of legal statement, before he can vote on a proposal. Flagging of proposals, from my point of view, doesn’t make sense since it could represent another way of censorship.

The field for “Proposal-Funding” is not needed in the first approach, but anyway an interesting feature one could discuss on (–> 3-(N))

    Please share your feedback, Thx.

These are great ideas especially the ability to attach a document to proposal even though “What, Why, How, Who and When tabs” is also a great way to lay out your proposal/suggestion/idea having limited space to explain it in detail makes it difficult to paint a full picture of what your attempting to achieve. Love your approach to this.
